COVID19 -Staying open as the NT opens up

The benefits of a traffic light system as the NT opens up

As the Northern Territory opens up to interstate arrivals, and the need to quarantine or isolate is removed, we know there is going to be an increase in COVID19 cases reported in our community. While it is an exciting time, and many locals are eagerly anticipating seeing family and friends again or travelling interstate over the festive period, there is a lot of anguish as well about how this will unfold.

At Movement for Life Physiotherapy, we provide a service that many people are reliant on.  Whether it's pain management, hydrotherapy pool access, assessment and management of acute injuries, or the application or removal of a cast, the local community is reliant on us being open and our staff available to deliver this essential health service. From NDIS clients, to athletes, gardeners to mechanics, access to our services is important.

And staying open is critical to that.

In dealing with all aspects of a business, but particularly COVID19, risk mitigation is crucial.  We know that there are key things an organisation can do to help reduce the spread of COVID19, keep our community safe and keep the NT open.  That's why we have introduced a traffic light system to our clinics.

Our goal is to remain open and reduce the spread of COVID19. Period.

But to do this, as a team, we are going to try and stay a step ahead of the proverbial curve.  On a daily basis our management team will be assessing the risk posed to our local communities and setting the tone for the precautions we need to take.

Green.

Amber.

Red.

By doing this, we are confident we can stay open, provide a safe and effective service, and keep you safe. This is why you might see our team wearing face masks, goggles, perhaps even face shields well before there is a push from the NT Government or the Chief Health Officer. It's why, at times, our staff will have Rapid Antigen tests. And it's why we will insist on clients using the QR Check-in system ongoing, and, when indicted, encouraging the prudent use of face masks.  And we thank you in advance for doing this.

To be clear, it's not about paranoia, nor is it supposed to frighten people.  Rather it is our way of being responsible, accountable and proactive in protecting our staff, our clients, our community, our livelihoods.

It's about us doing what we can to stay open as the NT opens up.
