How Payment & Rebates Work

Payment is straightforward, and we can help you understand what you may be able to claim.

For most services, payment is required at the time of your appointment. We accept:

  • Cash
  • EFTPOS
  • Credit card

Where applicable, private health insurance claims can be processed using HICAPS at the time of payment.

Your rebate depends on your individual policy, referral or funding arrangements. We recommend checking with your health fund or funding provider if you're unsure what you're covered for.

Private Health Insurance

If your health fund provides cover for physiotherapy or massage, you may be able to claim your rebate at the time of payment using HICAPS.

Payment on the Day

Payment is required at the time of consultation across our clinics. Third-party accounts may be available for businesses with a pre-arranged agreement with Movement For Life Physiotherapy. Surcharges apply to accounts.

Gap Payments

A rebate or funding contribution does not necessarily cover the full cost of your appointment. Where your funding arrangement does not cover the full fee, you will be responsible for the remaining amount.

Accounts & deferred payment

Accounts are only available to third parties that are businesses and have a previously arranged agreement with Movement For Life Physiotherapy. A surcharge applies to all accounts/deferred payments.

Funding & Referral Pathways

Your payment arrangements depend on how you access physiotherapy and the funding available to you. We can help you understand what you need before your first appointment.

What Funding Pathway Applies to Me?

Your funding pathway depends on why you're attending, your insurance or funding arrangements and whether your claim or referral has already been approved.

I'm paying privately

You can book directly with a physiotherapist without a referral. Payment is made at the time of your appointment, and you can claim from your private health insurer where eligible.

FAQ's

Find quick answers to common questions about payment, rebates and referrals.

  • Do I need to pay on the day?

All accounts are required to be settled on the day. We accept major credit cards and have HiCAPs available so you can claim directly from your private health insurer if you are covered for services.

  • I'm under Workers Compensation or Motor Accident Claim. Will I still need to pay?

Clients with approved claims have no out of pocket expense. We will invoice the compensable body directly. If your claim has not yet been approved, you will need to pay for services at the time of the appointment and claim back from the compensable body once approved.

  • I have a medicare referral from my doctor. Will there be a gap payment?

Yes. We do not bulk bill any of our services. There will be a gap payment payable by the client.

  • Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You can generally book directly with a physiotherapist. Some funding pathways, including Medicare, DVA and compensable claims, have specific referral or claim requirements.

  • Can I claim physiotherapy through private health insurance?

If your policy covers physiotherapy, you may be able to claim an eligible service through HICAPS at the time of payment. Check with your health fund to confirm your level of cover.

  • Does Medicare cover physiotherapy?

Some Medicare referral arrangements can provide a contribution towards eligible allied health services. A gap payment applies at Movement For Life.

  • Do I have to pay before my WorkCover or motor accident claim is approved?

If your claim has been approved, the relevant compensable organisation may be billed directly. If your claim is still awaiting approval, payment arrangements may differ.

  • Can I use private health insurance for classes?

Physiotherapist-led classes may be claimable depending on your private health cover. Warm Water Exercise and Drop-In Sessions that are not conducted by a physiotherapist are not claimable through private health insurance.
